Sweeeeet!

So today was the big day.  Were we successful as far as the scale was concerned, or did we plan, shop, cook and track for nothing?  Have you ever heard the saying "If you kinda do it, it kinda works, but if you REALLY do it, it really works"?  Well, I have to say, that saying is so true!  A weeks worth of eating smart, more fruits, more veggies, cooking instead of eating out or throwing a pizza in the oven paid off.  I actually jumped off the scale and up and down when Robin told me "You lost 4.4 pounds!"  While I was making a spectacle of myself, Ashley quietly told Lauren, our leader, that she was nervous because she was afraid she had gained.  Well, quite the opposite, the child lost 5.4!!!!  It just reaffirms to me that I need to actually follow the program as it is intended, not do "the Lisa plan".  It actually feels quite great, and am ready to give week two another good effort.  Ashley and I did go out to eat after the meeting.  She had only used a few of her weekly points allowance, and I had used about half, so we decided we could treat ourselves.  We went to Santeremo's, a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant.  We both had one glass of wine, I had a side salad, and then for our entree, I had the homemade spaghetti with red sauce (no meat, it's Ash Wednesday afterall!), and Ashley had cheese ravioli.  The food is delicious, but we shocked ourselves at only eating until we were satisfied, and brought the rest home.  I was worried that my delish spaghetti would go to waste, but Ashley reminded me that Morgan will be home tomorrow for the weekened and I'm sure she'll eat it!
I also managed to get up again today and do the treadmill for my "Couch to 5K" program, so I'm trying to get the exercise going too.  I was hoping to get some humor in today, but I am just so stink'n excited that we both did so well that I can't think of anything humorus to say!  Just this...."SWEEEEEET"!
