It Was Just a Thought

The other day I noticed a prong on my wedding ring was sticking up. On each side of the"main"diamond, there are 3 small diamonds. I've had the prongs fixed several times. I've had 2 of the diamonds replaced. I just had the prongs fixed about 2 months ago, since they started to snag on everything. So I noticed that one prong, sticking out and I began to think. Maybe I should suggest to the hubby that I get a new wedding ring. Pick out my own setting, but use the diamonds I have in my original ring. Our 19th wedding anniversary is next month. I would really like something platinum. Never until recently have I thought about getting a different ring. But since I've had to have 2 diamonds replaced and the prongs repaired several times...I thought it just might be a good idea to mull around for a year or so.

Today I looked down at my hand and what-do-you-know, one of the small diamonds is gone. From the place where the prong was sticking up. Maybe I really should get a new ring.

Oh, bummer about the diamond! The diamond fell out of my engagement ring about- 16 years ago? Fortunately I found it, just sitting there on a sofa cushion. Unfortunatly I still haven't had it reset, and I've been only wearing my wedding band ever since. I could have repaired or replaced it years ago, but honestly, I would love it if Pat would surprise me with it. So I wait. And I wait... sigh.

My wedding ring is a plain gold band, but I had my engagement diamond reset a few years ago because that ring was plumb worn out.
