Saftey First!
We drove an hour southwest last night for a double header. I had half the team with me...and my hubby wonders why I can't hear my cell phone ring with 5 girls and the radio blaring. Anyway.....we were at the top of the 3rd inning when the lightening started. We finished that half, then the umps called the game. It got nasty....we all stood in the dugout for a bit before running for the car. Never got rain (at that time, but drove thru it on the way home), but lightening and horrible winds. Last week a 13 year old girl in the Denver area was warming up for a game and was struck by lightening. She's in serious condition, last I heard. Thanks umps, for putting our kids' saftey first!

At Emily's swim meet on Monday, they heard thunder and pulled swimmers out of the pool in the middle of a heat (seemed kind of odd, since they had to swim to the end of the pool to get out, anyway!). There was never any lightning at that time, but we had about an hour delay because they're not allowed even back on the pool deck till we've had 20 thunder-free minutes.
