Ewww, Gross

Yesterday, while home alone, I had passed the youngest daughter's bathroom one time too many. I noticed how the entire counter space was cluttered with wash cloths, hair products, face products, make-up, her blow dryer, curling iron and straightener. And to top it all off, everything was covered in long hair, including the sink. I decided it was time for a good 'ole "Mom" cleaning. It took me 45 minutes! Several things were thrown away, drawers were cleaned out, as was underneath the sink. Certain things found new homes, including the blowdryer, brush and comb, which got it's own drawer. And the hair, heavens, I'm not sure how she has any still on her head! There was hair in the sink, on the counters, stuck in hair wraps, pony tail holders, in her comb....just everywhere! I got it all sparkling, clean, and hair free. And believe it or not, when the daughter got home and went to her bathroom, the first thing I heard was "MOM!!!! Thanks!" That's all I really need.

Whoops!

We're still ironing out the kinks in the schedule I guess. As I am 20 miles from home returning a shirt Morgan had bought last Sunday, I get a phone call from her.

M: "Um, I can't eat."

Me: "Why?"

M: "You forgot to give me money and we don't have any in the lunch account."

Me: "Crap, is there anyone who can loan you some money?"

M: "I don't know, maybe I'll just bum stuff off of people why they eat."

Me: "I am SO sorry!"

I felt awful...I knew that ala cart was going to be cash ony this year and I did send her with $5 the day before. Unfortunately, I had no idea how much, if any, money we had in the lunch account from the year before. Apparently there is none! Not a good thing when she has vball practice right after school for 2.5 hours! Luckily she called about 20 minutes later to tell me that Javier bought her lunch! Shoooo! Guess tomorrow I'd better send extra so she can repay her debt!
We'll get this right eventually!

Back to School

Today Morgan goes back to school. The kid that can sleep until noon during the summer has been up since 6:00 a.m. I'm sure she'll be beautiful by the time we leave at 7:30. She even ironed the jean skirt she's wearing! I'm hoping back to school means back to a schedule (and me back to working out).
Oh, by the way, we still haven't gotten any further on the room situation. Maybe I'll work on it tomorrow....

What am I waiting for?

Morgan has been anticipating taking over Ashley's room for a few months now. It's 16 x 22 (over the garage) and her room is a mere 11 x 12. We need to clean up the stuff that Ashley left, clean up Morgan's orginal room, paint the "new" room and then move and rearrange stuff. We've barely done anything so far. I did go into the "new" room and pick up stuff today. That's about it. Morgan took some stuff down off her own walls. She finally made a decision on a paint color. So instead of heading back upstairs and working on something I took a short nap and then came down to the computer...yea, things are getting done that way!

Time Flies

I think we all know that time flies. Sometimes it just goes by faster than others. It was a month ago today when I posted last. It's not that I've been having fun either! In the past month, I have been back to IL for my grandma's funeral (may she rest in peace, she was wonderful person), then back again for a family reunion and to move the oldest since she is going to college there. We stayed for 9 full days...that was a bout 4 days too long.
I will go back again on Labor Day weekend. This time, I am flying! Ashley will move into her dorm that weekend and I want to be there. Plus after they move into the dorms, there are several "meetings" that the student and parents are supposed to go to. They are mandatory for the student....like she would go if I wasn't there. I guess it will seem more final when we move her into the dorm, right now it seems as if she's just off visiting my family.

Morgan has already started volleyball practice. She's sore. Nothing like sitting around grandma and grandpa's forever, then come home to 2-a-days....first practice of the day is for 2.5 hours and the 2nd if for 2 hours. She starts school next Tuesday. Where did summer go?

The hubby has finally decided he wants to lose weight. He did his first week of "tracking" on his own, didn't even tell me. And this is while he was in TX for work. Believe it or not, he lost 12 pounds his first week! MEN! It will slow down, but I am so happy, he needs to start taking better care of himself. He told me his next goal is to start working out at the gym. Good, maybe that will get me back in there too!

They say time flies when your having fun, but I really think they should change that saying to "Time flies when you're super busy".
