It's Almost That Time Again
Tomorrow is my birthday! Anyone who knows me well knows that I love birthdays, especially mine. It isn't a day to mourn years past, it's a day to look forward to the future. In my mind, I've made it another year, and that's a really good thing. Especially since I'm in relatively good health, and in good shape. I am ready to celebrate. It won't be quite like last year, when I hit the big 4-0....I celebrated WAY too much! But tonight we're going to the Country Club with our dear friends, Dave & Alex....they have plans on my actual birthday, so the night before is good. It is, afterall, my "birthday eve". Tomorrow I'm not sure what we'll do...I wouldn't mind going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Maybe a movie after that. We dont' have big plans, but whatever the plans are, I get to pick! Anyway, I hope that everyone who has a birthday coming up, or just celebrated one, has the same attitude I do....it's a day to celebrate! Go ahead, just do it!

I Did It!
Prom/After Prom is over. I made it up all night! I never even felt tired! It did help that we kept pretty busy all night long. Hubby and I arrived home at 5:50 a.m. I was surprised that I didn't fall asleep right away. I was also surprised when I woke up at 8:30! I made myself stay in bed longer, but then ended up getting up and getting teen #2 to her friends to go to a Rockies game. I did take about an hour long nap yesterday afternoon. I do confess to doing next to nothing all day yesterday. I didn't sleep straight thru the night last night either, (thanks to one of my beloved dogs). I have a doctors appointment later this morning. I believe when I get home, I may finally be ready for a nap. I'm sure all this will catch up with me. But I am also happy that I was able to work at After Prom without a yawn! I saw kids that looked more tired than me!

I'll Need Caffiene....
Tonight is Prom. Since my daughter is a junior this year, I got on the After Prom committee. This means I will be working at After Prom tonight. Don't worry, the hubby will be too. We will arrive at After Prom at 10:30 P.M. That's right, past my bedtime! We will be leaving probably between 4:30 and 5:00 A.M. I haven't pulled an all nighter since.....well, I can't remember when ! I am NOT a night person. This will take some doing for me not to curl up in a corner and sleep. Hopefully we will be so busy that I will not think about the time. Do not expect a post from me tomorrow....I will be sleeping, possibly the entire day!

Another Sport is Done
Well, club volleyball for teen #2 is done. As busy as it kept me, being the "team mom" and as many miles as we'd put on the vehicle traveling to practices and tournaments, you'd think I'd be glad. Be truth be told, I'm sad. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I enjoyed watching all those tournaments. Maybe because I loved watching the girls interact....they all got along so well, they had so much fun together. They are mostly from different schools, so they won't see each other much now. Maybe it's because I like being needed, and everyone would come to me if they needed bandages, advil, sports tape, all those things I'd carry in my back pack. Maybe it's because I just love watching Morgan play her sports. I'm not sure why, but I wished it would have lasted longer. I do know this, Morgan had a lot of fun and she already said she's going to miss it. You know, I could be sad because I made some very good friends in the parents, and I won't get to see them much either. Whatever the reason....it was fun, I enjoyed it, I will miss it.

Road "Stress"
No, it wasn't road rage, but it truly stressed me out! I was driving on a stretch of road between two towns that is a bit curvy, following a CDOT truck. This road has a 65 mph speed limit. He was going 45.....the whole way! The only part of the road that had a passing zone was very brief, and of course, traffic was coming towards me, so I couldn't pass. I could see the guy in his mirror....talking away to his passenger. Surely he could see me and the 5 other cars piling up behind him while he merrily took his time.
On my way home, after my errands, I got behind a guy who was maybe constantly checking on a baby or child in the back seat of his car. I could see him turning around every few seconds. He was also driving under the speed limit (and it was 35 this time!) and he hit his brakes before entering the intersection, although the light was green. I finally turned a different direction, only to get behind a cargo truck carrying who knows what, but driving under the speed limit again. He went straight and I turned, hightailed it homes I hope all the slow drivers are off the road when I take teen #2 to her volleyball practice tonight!
Like I said, I didn't enter the road rage stage, but I was pretty darned stressed!

Nope, no Wings
Yesterday as I grocery shopped, I was feeling a bit sluggish and thought about all the stuff I had to do yet in the day. I decided to try a sugar free Red Bull. First off, it has an awful taste to it, but I drank it anyway. Second, I didn't sprout any wings of any sort, nor did I get a burst of energy at any time. I did, however, get the shakes. I guess I wasted about $1.50....which I won't do again!

A Sign of Things Coming??
Yesterday I slept in a little. I could have made it to our regular mass time (8:30), but decided I'd let everyone sleep in for once. We'd go to 10:00 mass. I got myself ready, woke the girls up, woke them up again, woke the hubby up, woke the girls up again, then decided I may just go to mass by myself. The hubby was barely ready on time, but neither one of the girls ever got up. I woke them up before we left and told them they had better get to 11:30 mass. I called the girls when we got out of church. They'd only gotten up about 10 minutes earlier. I told them I guess they'd better hurry up. Hubby and I went to breakfast. The girls were gone when we got home. When they got out of church, they called to see if we'd meet them for lunch. Told them we'd already eaten, but they were welcome to go up to the country club and eat. They did, then arrived home. Each wearing jeans and a hoodie. Guess neither one showered when they realized I totally serious that they'd better make it to church and they didn't have time to get ready. I know they are getting older and I remember going through the rebellious stage when I didn't go to church (except I was a bit older), so I'm just hoping they will eventually realize how important church is. They did go, so that's a plus. And hopefully, God and whoever sat by them didn't mind that they didn't shower!
