It's Official

Well, Morgan says it is anyway. She told me she is NOT playing softball this summer. Tryouts for the Eaton team were this past weekend while she was at her confirmation retreat. The guy who is coaching still wants her to play, but he's been her coach in the past, and although he is a nice guy, he's not that great of a coach, especially for a competitive team. That and he's divorced and his daughter is on the team and she gets to do whatever she wants for the most part. Morgan just isn't interested in playing on his team. Now, that's not to say that if someone else approaches her for a different team she won't say yes. But for now, she says it's official, she's not playing. Hopefully that means more golf, pool time and camping. We'll see!

Are we Crazy??

You be the judge. We received a mailing from the Dodge dealership where we have purchased our last 2 vehicles. It had a deal for trucks and SUV's for 60 months with 0% interest. We took in our Durango, which we bought 2 years ago in April, and which has 51,000 miles on it, and checked out trading it in. Long story short, in my garage is now a 2006 Durango Limited. It has all the same features as the old one except it has a navigation system, better stereo and auto hatch open/close function. It is *not* a Hemi, which the old one was, but still has a big enough engine in it to pull stuff and go fast (like I need to go fast). It only has 99 miles on it (I put about 30 of those on already), which will change quickly this weekend as we are spending the night in Estes Park and heading to Wheatridge for a volleyball tournament on Sunday. The beauty of it all is that our payments will be *very* close to the old payments! So, are we crazy?

It's a Snow Day...

...for me anyway! It started snowing here yesterday and continues to snow today. The girls really thought they'd get a snow day, but nope! Me, on the other hand, I'm taking a snow day. I did work out, I ran to the market in our little town, and I'm staying home the rest of the day! I really wanted Starbucks, but decided a trip into Greeley just wasn't worth it! I *may* go out and re-shovel the sidewalk. I already did it once today, but it's covered again! Welcome spring!

It's a Girls Day

I haven't been home much, mostly due to volleyball. My house shows it. I should stay home and gut a room or two and really clean. But since it is spring break here and since one of my daughters is having fun in IL with family and the other is stuck here with me, we're going to go do "girl things" today. We're going to shop, have lunch, shop some more, and maybe see a movie. Who knows. It shall be great fun! Or it will be until teen #2 decides she is done for the day!

Am I Done Yet???

My friend, Bluegrass Mama, mentioned a todo list. If I were smart like her, I'd link you to her blog, but I don't know how. Anyway....I made one today, and everything but "laundry" is crossed off. Not that I haven't done any laundry, it's just not finished. But here is what I have accomplished so far...

1) Trip to work (to pick up bars I forgot to take with me yesterday)
2) Trip to Wal-Mart for snack foods for trip and volleyball tournament
3) Trip to Starbucks (hey, it was worth it)
4) Trip to bank
5) Paid bills
6) Trip to Middle School to give teen #2 her cell phone, which she'll need tonight when her dad is trying to get ahold of her.
7) Filled up the Durango
8) Stopped at Post Office & Country Club to drop off bills
9) Packed overnight bag for teen #1 and myself
10) Packed everything in the Durango
11) Ate lunch (very important!)

Now all I have left to do is finish up the laundry and drive to York, NE today. I'd say I got a little accomplished, wouldn't you?

It's Not That Hard

I used to work as a bank teller. To be quite honest, I wasn't very good at it. Of course I was only 20 at the time. I use the drive up at my bank quite often. Since I've been a customer at the bank, they have had 3 or 4 new tellers. The latest is a woman who's probably a bit older than me and I was told she had prior experience. She has got to be the slowest teller on earth! Yesterday I went to make a cash deposit. Out of that deposit was $2.50 in change. One dollar in quarters, the rest in nickels. As she emptied out the envelope of money, she says..."Okay, I'll do this one time, but if the drive up is busy, you'll have to take this inside. They have a coin counter." Um, I was the *only* person at the drive up and it was only $2.50 in change!!!!!!!!!! How hard is it to pile nickels in 5's to figure out how many were there? I'm seriously ready for a bank change. They used to be the only bank in our small town, but we've recently gotten two more. Am I insane to have this bug me, or would it bug you too?

She Owes Me

Yesterday, while I was driving to Colorado Springs for yet another volleyball tournament, the hubby asked how many miles I have on the Durango, which will hit it's 2nd birthday somewhere around mine, the end of April. I glanced down and there's about 48,250 on it. In the 2 years since we purchased it, I have driven teen #2 all around Colorado for her sporting events. Just last weekend between her basketball tournament and her volleyball tournament, I put 280 miles on it. Yesterday going to and from Co Springs I put on 288. I've decided that when teen #2 grows up and has money (she claims she'll be rich!), she owes me a car!
