What?!?!?
My last post was 12/19/05. Today is 12/30/05. How in the #$!! did I get so behind!? So HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! We didn't have any plans. My hubby and I were going to stay home, eat junk, drink and watch movies. Our friends called tonight and asked if we wanted to go to the CC with them for dinner. They'd already made reservations for 6. Okay, we'll go. We were at the CC when they called....and a table of people we just know from the addition were right next to us. They invited us to a party they were having at the clubhouse in our addition. Which is like half a block from our house. So for people who had NOTHING to do, we know have 2 plans. And we may do both! :)

Top This...Oh Ye Procrastinators!
Three weeks ago we got a name of a child off our church's "Jesse Tree". We shopped that very day for gifts. We decided I would make a blanket (you know, the fleece kind that requires no sewing, just tying). I bought the material a week later. It sat in a bag at the dining room table. Saturday I mentioned to the ladies I work with (at a Christmas luncheon) I needed to make that blanket because the gift was supposed to be back at church no later than the 18th....which of course was yesterday! Morgan rolled her ankle at volleyball practice, it's now in an aircast. I am going to use that as an excuse for why I forgot about the blanket, until 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. When I jumped out of bed, showered, started the blanket, woke up Morgan to help (she is good at tying them), got ready for church, finished the blanket and wrapped all the gifts by 8:00 when we were almost ready for church. If that isn't procrastination, then fill me in!

Ahhh, So Sweet

We all need to be more gentler and kind this time of the year (and it wouldn't hurt year round either!). You know, not yell at people who don't seem to know how to drive, give more of yourself, share what you have. Somehow, my oldest (and crankiest) dog must have the Christmas spirit. She shared today. She doesn't particularly care for Chester, our little guy, he gets on her nerves. But just look at the picture above (I guess, I wanted it below, but didn't seem to work out that way!) and you'll see she's mellowed, just a little bit!
Thanks for the Idea
I stole this idea from my friend, Bluegrass Mama, who stole it from someone named Nat. These are the first sentences of my first blog of each month of 2005. After reading them, it seems I need a bit of work on my creativity. No wonder only 2 people ever read/reply to this!
January, '05 - How 'bout that! I made it up until midnight!
February, '05 - The other day it snowed in Denver, some towns north of Denver, Ft. Collins and even Greeley, but I got up yesterday dorning and did we have snow?
March '05 - I see my oldest daughter is getting tired of reading about her little sister in my blog!
April '05 - I shouldn't even be on the computer, but I had to check an address, so I thought, why not get a quick post in?
May '05 - I have been so busy I've barely had time to breathe.
June '05 - Ashley wouldn't get up and go work out with me this morning.
July '05 - Okay, I know that not *all* girls (and/or women) are this stupid....
August '05 - Oh boy, summer started for me in April, when my cousin got married.
September '05 - I decided to make chocolate chip cookies for my daughters volleyball team.
October '05 - I have Ashley's car today.
November '05 - I was at Target yesterday.
December '05 - "Sooo Me"....this was one of those Blogthings...I am a Lemon Meringue Pie.
Note to self....start using your brain....I know it's in there!

Argh! Time Crunch!
Who forgot to tell me that Christmas is just around the corner!?! I believe every year I say I'm going to be done shopping at least a week before Christmas so I can relax and every year I lie to myself! I AM almost done shopping, but I am as disorganized as can be and can't seem to get it all together! Luckily I remembered I had to mail out gifts to my parents, since they are hosting Christmas for my dad's side of the familiy and we do a gift exchange for the adults and buy the little ones a small gift. They are celebrating this Saturday. I mailed the stuff yesterday. The P.O. lady asked if I wanted confirmation on my package....I told her I would for sure hear about it if it didn't arrive on time! Hopefully today I'll get the gifts for my sisters familiy and my grandma wrapped and mailed. I started my Christmas cards last night. I'm hoping to finish them today also. Morgan finally finished decorated the artifical tree in the basement last night. I need to put up a few more decorations (like the people that go with my Christmas village, the town looks bare) and then shove all the boxes and crates back into the closet so we have the basement clean before my parents come next week! And to top it all off, I volunteered to be parent coordinator for Morgan's volleyball team and I just found out we decided which out of state tournament we're going to and *I* have to make the arrangements with the travel agent for the team! I need a HUGE day planner and one of those hand held organizers....and maybe some valium.

And the Bronco's Won....Right?
Eric and I have always been drinkers. Don't get me wrong, we're not alcholics, but we do enjoy having a good time. Like yesterday....we had 4 tickets to the Bronco's game and he had invited our friends, Dave & Alex to go. They like to drink too. We tried to pick a DD....but no one wanted to volunteer for that position. We ended up getting a limo to take us there and back. We brought 2 bottles of austi spumante and drank those on the way down. We were dropped at a bar & grill across the street from the stadium about 2 hours before game time. We ate and drank beer. We went to the game....we drank beer. We left the game and went back to the bar & grill to wait for our limo...and drank more beer. I fell asleep on the way home. I didn't sleep well last night, had to get up and drink a gallon of water to wash down a couple of advil and a stomach pill. I'm not feeling the greatest right now either. Although a little breakfast and more water has helped. The Bronco's did win, but I just remember drinking a lot of beer yesterday. I haven't done that in while, and I won't be doing that again, for a L*O*N*G time! Next time we have something like that going on, I think I'll volunteer for the DD position!

Baby It's Cold Outside
And I ain't a kidding! Currently, according to my WeatherBug...it's -9! I can't remember the last time we were in the negative digits except for the windchill! It is freezing!!!!!!!!!! My dogs will run out, do their job and run right back in, especially little Chester, who I didn't even put on his tie out. It's supposed to start warming back up by tomorrow, a high of 30....it'll feel positively warm!

I think it's over
Well, hubby's current company did everything they could to get him to stay. They pulled out all the stops, including a meeting with the CEO. It was a tough decision, but in the end, current employer won out. They even gave him more $$ than expected. I just hope the things they told him that were going to change for the better actually happen!

This Is Tough
Poor Hubby. He accepted the new job at the new company. Now his current employer is trying like mad to get him to stay. Naturally he called when I had run to get gas and of course my cell phone was being charged at home. He sounded rough in his voice mail. Hopefully by the end of today it'll be settled....keep your fingers crossed!

The Waiting Game
My last actual post had some juicy info about Ashley and hubby applying for jobs. Ashley did not get the job at Perkins. He asked about her extra curricular activities and she told him she manages HS wrestling, so he went with a girl that would be able to work more hours. I think I was more disappointed than she was. He did tell her that if she still didn't have a job after wrestling season, to call him.
Hubby is now in negotiations. It all hinges on whether he can get what he wants with salary/vacation/benefits etc. We're both kind of excited about it, so we hope it all works out.
After the shaky start to the week, it ended up being a pretty nice (and very fast) week. Well, other than the weather. The wind about blew us to the next county.
Here's to a good weekend!
